Continuing Resolution

Continuing Resolution

Please be aware that on Monday, January 22, Congress reached an agreement to fund the government into early February under a Continuing Resolution. A continuing resolution is short-term legislation that allows the government to continue to operate while its budget is yet to be approved. The legislation continues through February 8, 2018 at which point we hope the budget will be passed.

Please note that the federal government shut down and reopened without much impact to housing. REAC inspections were not completed during the shutdown period and the Director of REAC, Delton Nichols, has stated that they expect to recover quickly from the one day lapse in inspections. The shutdown began at midnight on Friday, January 20, 2018 and the government was reopened on Tuesday, January 23, 2018.
