TRACS is Experiencing Delays in Processing Vouchers

HUD’s TRACS system is continuing to experience processing delays for voucher requests this month. The specific cause of the issue – voucher files formatted in TRACS 202D are significantly larger in size because the number of rows in the file has increased.

While the TRACS Team is aware of the delays and is working to address the problem, the system appears to be an estimated 5 nights behind in processing.

In the interim, HUD has asked the industry to not re-transmit vouchers that were already submitted, as this will only increase the volume of the backlog. The processing logic of “First In – First Out” still applies to those in in queue. The TRACS Team will inform users once the system change has been made to resolve the delays. However, owners may need to prepare for minor delays in voucher payments scheduled for February 2015 if TRACS is not able to address the backlog during the coming weekend.

If you are unsure of the status of your voucher submission, you can log on to TRACS, via Secure Systems, and check your voucher’s status by clicking on Voucher/Tenant Queries, then Voucher Query, and selecting your Contract Number/Project Number and hitting “Submit”. Vouchers successfully processed will appear on the list with an assigned Voucher ID.
